Week #2: (2/1-5) Ch. 3, 4 & 5 in WAM text.

We'll start today's lecture off with a quick review of LEDs and Switches from Chapters 2 & 3 in the WAM text (attached below). Make special note of the bi-color LEDs, as the BoeBot kit did not include these.

Then we will discuss the operation of the Standard Servo Motor. A pdf of the Ch. 4 PowerPoint presentation is attached below.

As in the previous chapters, make sure you answer the questions/problems at the end of the chapter.


Parallax has 3 small PWM controlled servo motors designed to be used with the Board of Education and other similar micro-controllers. They are the standard servo (180* rotation), continuous rotation servo and the high-speed continuous rotation servo. Their data sheets are attached here:
