Exam #1 Information

Post by rjagodowski »

Exam #1 will be distributed in class on 11/15/18. Your exam sheet should include a "Figures" sheet on the back with figures numbered to correlate with the exam questions. A copy of the figures sheet is attached below if you misplaced your figures sheet. This is a take home exam and it is due no later than 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, 11/29/2018. Late submission will be penalized 10% per week (or part of a week) late. Early submissions will be accepted. It is highly recommended you DO NOT wait until 11/28 to begin this exam.

The exam you submit is expected to be your OWN work. However, you may work in teams to "brain storm" as needed. Just be sure that the work you submit is your own.

Partial credit may be given for incorrect responses ONLY if you submit work with your answer.

Problems which require that a formula be solved must show work in order to receive full credit for the problems. Correct answers alone will NOT be given full credit for these types of problems.

Good Luck.

EXAM #1 RESULTS:

Exam #1 was graded and returned on Wednesday, 12/5. If you did not receive your exam, check your STCC email as it will be/was emailed to you before noon on 12/7, or you did not submit it. Please do so ASAP. For those who wish to boost their exam grade, please see the instructions below about Chance for Redemption.

EXAM #1 SCORE RESULTS:
Average: 67%
St. Dev.: 24.7
Max Score: 98%
Min Score: 31%
A's = 2
B's = 1
C's = 1
D's = 1
<D's = 3
(Awaiting 3 tests)

Chance for Redemption: For those of you who did not do as well as you had hoped, you have an opportunity to improve your grade. You may resubmit your exam on or before 8:30 am Tuesday, 12/11. However, you must COMPLETELY show all of the work and needed for each question you answered incorrectly on the exam. This includes Multiple Response answers as well. You must show/calculate how the right answers are obtained. This work must be submitted with your original exam and with all reworked problems in numerical order with all work and diagrams neatly drawn. You may receive up to a maximum of 60% of the credit needed to get a 100%. For Example: If you received a 70% on the exam, you are 30 points away from 100%. 60% of 30 is 18 points, so you could raise your score on the exam from 70% to 88% IF you completely and correctly answer each problem you got wrong, INCLUDING multiple responses.
