Week #5: (2/19-22) Eaton Sensor Handouts

Post by rjagodowski »

Day Class: This week Tuesday followed a Monday schedule due to the President's Day Holiday observance. Continue reading in the Eaton Sensor Handout. You should have completed the section on Photo-Electric devices for last week. This weeks' assignment is to finish reading through the handout. The handout is included at the end of this post for your convenience.

Evening Class: Due to the weather related loss of class last week and the change in schedule this week, we will be holding our class on Tuesday, 2/19. Because of the room scheduling conflict with the Mech-Elect Assembler Training program on our regular Wednesday evening schedule, I will use the 2/19 to cover most of the material in the Eaton Sensors handout, and then we'll discuss the project.

Here is a catalog of Eaton Switches:

Note that this is different than the Sensor Learning Course attached below. This document is just to demonstrate the variety of styles available when selecting a limit switch.

This week we will continue working through the Eaton Sensors handout, with our discussion focusing on 2, 3 & 4 wire sensors, sensor timing and time permitting, enclosure ratings.

We'll also spend a bit of time discussing 2-wire, 3-wire and 4-wire sensors. Some supplemental information from Wisc-Online about:

Two Wire Sensors
Three Wire Sensors
Four Wire Sensors
