This presentation is designed to dovetail with the presentation on the "Job Search" portion of Week #9 in EET-255 Lecture We'll spend part of today discussing Professional Development topics.

Another job search engine: Indeed.com Recommended search: Electro-Mechanical Technician, Electrical/Electronic Technician, Automation Technician, PLC Technician, Controls Technician and Maintenance Technician. The latter is a bit of a dated term and many times include positions not applicable, but you can sometime get some good hits with the term. Here is an posting for Stanley Black & Decker for a Data Enablement Technician. This is a new term apparently being used for Industry 4.0 and IIoT technician positions.

Many companies use injection molding as part of their manufacturing process, so a basic understanding of the process is a good tool to have when seeking employment. A YouTube Video animation of an Injection Moulding Machine (2:58) and this video explains a bit of the history and a good explanation of the Injection Moulding Process (9:36). And this short video from Conair on Injection, Extrusion and Now molding processes (6:08).

We will then turn the discussion to your Advanced Automation Project.

The E.E.T. Advisory Board Meeting is scheduled for Friday, May 10th @ noon. The presentation of these projects begins the meeting. The meeting then commences around 12:30. That will give each group approximately 10 minutes to present and demonstrate their project.

TENTATIVE: In addition to the project you will be demonstrating in Room 116, one member of your team should staff a "Project Presentation Day" event most likely to be held on the 7th floor of Building 2. For this presentation it is expected that your group will have created a tri-fold presentation board showing the key aspects of your team's project. A video of the project in operation makes for a good presentation as well. Check out these links for ideas:
