Week #7: (3/4-8) Parallax Process Control - Week #2
Posted: Sun Feb 24, 2019 8:34 pm
Last week, in Week #6, you should've began this last week if you're on schedule. Seeing as we did not meet last week due to the Professional Day, I will spend some time in lecture today going over this content as an introduction.
This week you will begin using the Parallax Process Control kits. The Process Control text and other documentation can be downloaded Week #6.
This week's lab exercise is to continue working in the Process Control text. You should have read and worked through Chapters 1 & 2 at this point. If not, do so FIRST!!!
NOTE: StampPlot software IS NOT currently installed on the computers in our lab. Hopefully it will be after Spring break. Until then, you need to follow the directions given Week #6 and install it on your own computer or have your professor install it on the computer you are going to use. It is highly recommended that you install it on your own computer as you will be using StampPlot regularly for the rest of this course and creating numerous screenshots and files. Having this installed on your own computer will be very helpful.
As part of this week's exercise in Chapter 3, you must post a screenshot of your StampPlot showing the D.C. LoadLine and Power Dissipation Curve of the Bipolar Transistor. A sample post is included in the Reply below. Be sure to answer all questions in the chapter and you should be able to understand all of the calculations presented.
For your convenience, a pdf of just Chapter 3 is attached here: Be sure to use the right StampPlot macros and BS2 programs for each activity.
Some of the experiments in this chapter and throughout the rest of the text will make use of the ADC0831 Analog-to-Digital Converter chip. Here is the data sheet:
