Week #2: (1/28-2/1) Progress Reports

Post by rjagodowski »

You should post your progress for this week as a Reply to this Topic. Each person in your group should create their own post. You may edit your post as you work progresses throughout the week. For example:

Tuesday (1/29): I created the rough schedule for the group for the rest of the semester.

then edit the post on Thursday to add:

Thursday (1/31): I researched materials for the pneumatic control valves needed.

And if you work again later in the week:

Saturday (2/1): Found 3 vendors for the pneumatic control valves.

Progress Report Topics will be locked at the beginning of the next week. DO NOT DELAY IN POSTING YOUR PROGRESS!!!

Tuesday (1/29): Rough schedule was created. Project steps were discussed. Additional research of parts was done.

Wednesday (1/30): I adjusted the rough program we had on paper to accommodate the changes in ideas. I also created a rough sketch of how the machine would look like. Research for parts was also continued.

Thursday (1/31): I researched the Coca Cola Freestyle machine to get an idea of how they function. I managed to find images of the inside of the machine and was able to come up with an idea for the flavor mixing procedure.

Saturday (2/2): I found a youtube video of a smart bartender project done with a raspberry pi 3. There was a link to the build guide with the materials listed.

Tuesday 1/29/19 :

today we discussed what the upcoming schedule. we also divided up the schedule into three steps with one extra step if time allows. also we came up with a competing idea for a distribution type of machine instead of the consumer based original design, but this new one was put aside for the original.

Thursday 1/31/19 :

today we researched different products useable in our machine, my task was researching the syrup and the carbonated water in the mixtures. most of the name brand syrups are very costly and appear to have issues with expiration dates. as for the carbonated water there seems to be no large scale bottles, so we may end up having to resort to using 33 ounce bottles, which with a serving size of 6oz (5:1 water to syrup) we will only get about six servings out of one bottle.
