Week #2 progress report
Filling Project
January 29, 2020
Tuesday in lab the group made a basic model of are bottling process. We constructed a chassis so we could begin to visually see where we are going to set up are components and the basic layout of the bottle filling automation process. We decided on a 4 stage rotary filling system, where the cup will be dropped on a turntable, and be turned to be filled and capped. Once this is done the last step will be to turn once more and be ejected on to a conveyer where it will then go to the robotic packaging process.
We also started a time line of goals and mile stones, by March 8, 2020; we plan to have the projects basic process functioning to the point where we will be focusing on the timing, operation and sophistication of are fully automated bottle filling process.
We also decided on a group name "The Bottle Guys" to boost moral, comradery and unity within are group.

So far we are coming up with a basic frame for the project. We have decided what type of bottles we are going to use that get filled, and as of now we are working on the spinning base for the different stations of the project working on how we are going to hook it up and where the stepper motor will go and how every thing will be secured.

Week 2
1/28/20 - 1/30/20
During week two of the bottle filling project we have accomplished great bounds. On Tuesday 1/28/20 we decided on a basic design and layout. We built a rough design based off the ideas we started with. We also selected the name of the group, The Bottle guys. After making the schematic and design, we split up the design into five parts. After splitting the project into parts we set dates to each section.
On Wednesday 1/29/20 I made a excel spread sheet of the projects parts and team members. This will be used to keep the team on track and tell who is working on what. The spread sheet should be the first photo attached. The second photo attached is of two wooden circles. I cut these out form ply wood and sanded them for the rotary on our project.
On Thursday 1/30/20 the group looked over notes that each of us made for design. From these notes we started to decided on how to build and work the rotary. Then we split up into two teams, one working on the base of the project and the other working on the PLCs and motor. I worked in both groups for short periods of time. We finished the rough base of the project. We also ordered an adapter that can be used to connect the PLC to a computer.

Re: Week #2 Progress Report - Filling Project
This week we got our scheduling for the project done and started planning out more of how the project is going to look and what is going to go where in the design. We started getting some of the parts we needed for our project and put a basic frame together. Also some of the group started working on some PLC programming.

Week #2 Progress report
At the moment I don't have any personal task this week next should be a more personal report but at the moment we got the basic design done it will be finalized once the bottles come in. we set up the project schedule and to some extent are schedules as well. also put a request in for the bottles. I stared looking into the programing a little.

Started the basic design and look for the bottle filling machine. We set a schedule with time constraints from now until the end of the semester. Built the skeletal work of the project and started building the rotary for the bottles. We've got the conveyor belt operating and a stepper motor for the conveyor belt. Still waiting on the bottles.

Our group had built the frame for the project and now we are working on fixing the platforms for everything to attach to the frame.
