The week was kind of slow just learning how to use Wireshark and Allen Bradley's software, and downloading it took some time.

Conner Richter
Week 3
2/3/20 - 2/7/20

During week three of our project we started on our second step. The second step of our project was to start the PLC connection. While in step two of the design we split up into two groups. One group was designated on getting the PLC to connect to the PC. The other group started to build the basic design of the project. I had also resized the two wooden circles i made for the rotary over the weekend.

On Tuesday 2/4/20, The group started to install software on to computers to make headway on PLCs. H and Konnor where a major part of getting this under way. They got the PLC to final connect to the computer to find the PLCs address. While they worked hard on the PLC, the other group of people worked on making a base for the project. By the end of the day we had a base that would hold up the rotary and convener belt.

On Thursday 2/6/20, The group had finally gotten the PLC to function with the PCs. Again we split up into two groups. One group took a trip to home depot and the other stayed back to get the stepper motor and PLC to communicate. Ryan in the group was good enough to dive me and vitally to Home depot. When we got there we looked for two base plates with rod holes in them, a double ended threaded rod, and plate edging. We manged to find the base plates and the 4 1/2 inc. rod to make the wheel spin. Then we got some plastic plate edging for the bottles to stay on the rotary. We also bought some scrap wood to hold one of the rotary circles in place. After buying all of the supplies we headed back to school. After arriving back in class we searched for tolls to cut the wood and screw in the base plate. Using hand saws Ryan cut the scrap wood into a stand for one of the circles. I started to cut a piece of plywood that I brought into school from home. This was to be used as the back wall for the base. We all got he base plates screwed into the circle and the spinning device. At the end of the day we had the stepper motor running and the rotary almost fully built.

This week I've downloaded all the programs to run the plc and have started to program the plc. The rest of the team has constructed the rotary.

Filling Project
February 10,

This week the team Bottle Guys worked on the chassis and the layout of are manufacturing process; like the orientation of the turntable and conveyer belt. We also put on a back board for mounting of the PLC, and the central wiring. We also put thought into where we will be putting the components of are manufacturing process, like where the motors and sensors are going to be place.

While part of the team was working on the physical layout of the manufacturing process, other members of the group where working on the power source, and interfacing of the computer network. They connected power to the PLC, and hooked up basic circuits to make sure that it was operational. They also started programming the HMI but it was not working properly so we decided to swap it out next week.

During this week we continued putting together the chassis and adding things on to it like the back board and the wheel for rotating the turntable and getting the orientation of everything figured out. Also some of us started working on the PLCs and getting them connected and communicating with the computer.

This week we've nearly completed the rotary, and we have completed the conveyor belt with limit switch.
