Week #13: StampWorks Experiments - Week #6

Post by rjagodowski »

This is your sixth week working on the StampWorks Experiments. By this time you should have completed all of the regular experiments. If not, continue working. If you have finished them, you can attempt the extra-credit experiments.

If you've completed all of the Stampworks ciruits, the remainder can be used with your regular Board of Education (BoEBot board (StampWorks board not required)). These experiments will investigating the PING Ultrasonic Sensor for several experiments and a 4x4 keypad interface. They are posted Here, in Week #14 & #15.

You MUST demonstrate at least one of your completed experiments to your instructor each time you are in the lab or you will not receive credit for your posts. I will then verify your post with an edit added to your post with a statement similar to "Verified 3/29/22 by RJ"

Stampworks lab information and assignments were originally posted here in Week #7.

The assignments have been copied again below for your convenience:

The Stampworks Manual can be downloaded here.

The BS2 programs for all of the StampWorks Experiments are contained in this zip file:

You will notice that the list below begins with Experiments #26 & #27, then back to Experiment #10. It is advised you perform these Experiments in this order.

The required experiments in the StampWorks Manual are:

Experiment #26: Hobby Servo Motor Control
Experiment #27: Stepper Motor Control
Experiment #10: A Digital Clock
Experiments #11, 12 & 13: Using an LCD Display
Experiment #16: Frequency Measurement
Experiment #17: Advanced Frequency Measurement
Experiment #18: A Light Controlled Theremin

Additional Experiments (Extra-Credit) are:
Experiment #31: Advanced 7-Segment Multiplexing*
Experiment #32: I2C Communications*
Experiment #33: Using A Real-Time Clock

*These Experiments require external parts not contained within the StampWorks Board Inventory. See your instructor for these components.

Cole Lozinski and Korey Houle

We completed experiments 17,18 and 19.

For the screen shots we have experiment 17's output of the frequency of the 555 circuit. We had 2.85kHz on the debug screen and the scope was reading 2.67kHz.

We also have a second screen shot of experiment 18 that measures the period and frequency. The scope read 2.72kHz and the debug screen was showing 2.73kHz. For the period the scope was reading 366.9us while the debug screen showed 364us.
