Week #9 (3/21-25) Weekly Progress Report

Post by rjagodowski »

Post your progress, contributions, work and anything else you did for the Team project here.

There will be a separate Topic for each week during the semester.

These are individual posts, so each member must post their own progress report. If you worked with others, or the entire group, then you can mention that in your post as well. But each member must post to receive credit for this week's post.

Jorge Gonzalez

(Tuesday) -Today I got started on the PLC program for the pick and place locations in the greenhouse. HMI was not working for a while, then I got some help from Chuck to get it running again. Sometimes I still get the error for some unknown reason, but most of the times it seems to work. Nick helped me start the PLC program and I believe we got a system that will work well and do what we need it to. It consists of using 4 outputs on each rung, some that will be "on" and "off" to simulate our binary outputs.

(Thursday) - Today I figured out how the 24 to 3.3v converter works so that we can send signals from the PLC to the Dobot. Also, Nick and Rob set up relays to control the greenhouse light and the pump for the water. I used my laptop and created a simple program to turn the relay on and off with the PLC. We can incorporate time on delays and/or time off delays for a timer.

This week I helped Korey to figure out the Dobot has 6 inputs so 64 bits and we only needed 5 inputs due to us only have 28 positions on the green house. I also helped to screw down the Dobot and the hydroponic tubes to a wood frame so nothing will shift.

Figured out how we are going to set each plant individually and communicate between the dobot and the plc.

Started learning the arduino, to be able to program both the temp and humidity sensors as analogs to be able to pair it with the PLC

I figured out how to hardwire I/O to the Fanuc robot and figured out how to connect an external stop pushbutton.

this week we worked on programing both the temp and humidity sensors as analogs to be able to pair it with the PLC, we also set up the time of the temp and work it on human body temp and start seeing result.
