Exam #1 Information - Tuesday, 11/24/15

Here is the text of an e-mail I sent each of you this afternoon (11/23) about the specifics for our first exam. Please read and prepare accordingly. The majority of the exam will be given as a take home test, but there will be a brief in-class, closed book & notes portion on 11/24.


Hi Class,

Sorry for the late notice. The specifics for our
exam tomorrow morning will be as follows.

The exam will be given in two parts:

Part 1 is in-class and closed book and notes. Most
likely about 15-20 True/False questions. Few
calculations but you should know Ohms Law and the
Resistor Color Code.

Part 2 will be take home. The due date will be
specified at a later time, but probably Friday,
12/4.

I will lecture for the first 1/2 hour of class and
then give you the last 20 minutes of class time to
work on the brief in-class closed book part.

The exam will cover content from diodes (rectifier,
zener, LEDs, varactor) and D.C. transistor
quantities and analysis.
